Where you go and what you do is entirely up to you and your guide. This gives you an insight into Swazi lifestyle and culture. We use this tour heading to arrange custom-designed tours to satisfy specific requests, or to cover once-off occasions like national ceremonies, traditional weddings and public appearances by His Majesty the King. Our guides are resourceful and enthusiastic and love doing something a little different, so if you want to go bathing in a hot spring, tracking down a relative in a long-forgotten cemetery or simply exploring photographic opportunities off-the-beaten track, we’ll try our best to give you what you want. Hop On Hop Off Tour This a safe, but adventurous way of seeing Swaziland “backpacker style” using local taxi and bus transport to get around. Similar to the vehicle-based Taste of Swaziland Tour, this tour is totally unstructured. Where you go and what you do is entirely up to you and your guide to decide. Swaziland has a very reliable public transport system that gets around to most corners of the country. There is no better way to get a feel for how the local people go about their lives, than taking part in this fun excursion. Mkhaya Game ReserveMkhaya Game Reserve is Swaziland’s world-renowned Refuge for Endangered Species, and is famous for its role in halting the decimation of rhino in Swaziland due to poaching and illegal trafficking. Almost guaranteed viewing of a wide variety of black and white rhino, elephant, buffalo, hippo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, jackal, tsessebe, waterbuck, roan and sable antelope, as well as other common species. Hlane Royal National ParkHlane Royal National Park, within the huge Lubombo Conservancy in northeastern Swaziland, is held in trust for the Nation by His Majesty King Mswati III. This is the place where the hot still beat of Africa continues as it has for thousands of years. A network of game-viewing roads criss-cross the Park’s flat terrain, weaving between 1000-year old hardwood vegetation and shallow pans which attract great herds of animals during the dry winter months. Rhino Walk and Manzini MarketAn exciting guided walk in Hlane Royal National Park. See white rhino, giraffe and many other species of wildlife on foot, followed by a visit to the Manzini Market. Golf This picturesque course nestles on the side of a hill, in the lovely Ezulwini Valley. Greens and fairways are in tip-top condition and challenging features include lakes, gullies thick with vegetation, out-of-bounds areas running close to fairways, wickedly sited bunkers (one of which is so steep that railway sleeper steps have been provided to facilitate access), swirling breezes and clusters of magnificent trees and indigenous plants. SpaSet in tranquil gardens overlooking the golf course with tremendous mountain views, the spa is a haven of peace and gentle efficiency. A central lounge offers guests the chance to relax and enjoy complimentary herbal teas, fruit juices and freshly sliced fruit. The lounge overlooks the stunning rim-flow indoor swimming pool which in turn has views of the rolling mountains. Specialist treatment rooms branch off from a high central foyer. |
